I'm There!!!!

On Saturday April 4th Michael & Young will be hosting a Spey Day on Peg Leg bar of the Fraser River (the city of Chilliwack promises it will be open to the public full time again by the 15th of March).
Last year the event was awesome, and this year promises to be even better. Guest speakers include World Champion Casters: Tim and Steve Rajeff, and Steve Choate, as well as Zack Dalton.
The day is an excellent chance for any caster of any calliber to come out and hang out with a bunch of fly fishing and spey fishing junkies. And, wether you want to try new lines and rods, get some help with your cast, try to match your own rod to a new line, or just want to watch and have a free BBQ lunch, everyone is welcome.

Trying to get the day off for this one, always like watching the demo's.

I will be there as well! I need all the spey info I can get!
Always a good day!
I have some updates for our upcoming SPEY DAY!!!
Queen Charlotte Lodge will be hosting breakfast for all those who show up before 11:30am!!!
So far the day will look a little like this:
The event will roll at 9:30 am with an introduction from Dave O'Brien followed shortly by a demonstration from Steve Rajeff and Steve Choate. Steve Rajeff is the world's most accomplished competition fly caster and has been the rod designer for G.Loomis for over 20 years, and Steve Choate is a world champion spey caster and has worked closely with G.Loomis in the design of their spey rods. Their demonstration will be on the three predominant styles of spey casts...Traditional Long Bellies, Northwest Skagit, and Scandanavian "Underhand".
After the first demonstration you will have a chance to get some coffee and breakfast and pick up a rod or two to play.
There will be a few other demonstations throughout the day:
- Tim Rajeff will be doing a presentation on the most common mistakes in spey casting and how to correct and/or avoid them.
- Aaron Goodis will be doing a presentation on Skagit Csting.
- Peter Morrison will be doing a presentation on adapting spey casting techniques to single hand fly rods.
- Tim Arsenault will discuss how you can quickly become a better caster by approaching your fishing and casting with a "learning" frame of mind.
- There may also be demonstrations (time permitting) on different "unique", and "fun" casts by Tyler Kushnir, as well as "Casting from your "Off" shoulder by Ryan Heitz.
PLEASE REMEMBER to get your ballot filled out and placed in the draw as we will be giving away some great prizes. Some of the prizes include an Abel TR#2 Matte black Trout reel, spey lines from most of the manufacturers, hats, shirts, and other miscellaneous items. Limit one entry per person.
Airflo and G.Loomis have teamed together and will have all of their lines ready to rock as well as staff to help you match your rod to the best line for you. So bring out your own sticks and get them TWEAKED.
Hope to see you all there!![]()
