Sounds like you one of those days.
Isn't great when everything works out like that.
Making work/career happen where you like it is a great thing.

Well yesterday was one of those perfect days where the weather and fish gods were generous.I stopped at my usual spot in fulford and found one cutty cruising the shallows.I tried my black bugger, nothing, then tried my finn and still nothing. He was getting smarter as I had caught him on both flies the previous 2 days.I then tried a silver minnow, and wack!Since he was the only fish there,I decided to hike a creek down the the hills to a new spot on the ocean. As soon as I got there I could see fish boiling. Most of the fish were too far out,but I tossed my silver minnow for awhile.I then switched to a larger 3inch salt water baitfish pattern and bam!I managed to land 2 salmon and 2 big cutties befor the tide ran out too far.The fish were all in the 16 to 18 inch range and I lost 4 others.10 degree sun and fish!!!![]()

Sounds like a good day to me...for me a friend and I started out ot reach a remote river for Steelhead but were turned back by no access/too much snow.
So we decided to venture to Alberni and swing some flies at Moneys...no fish, great time ;even a sun burn on my face...where is the sun screen when you need it!

Well,I went down to the same spot on thurs. and managed 2 cutts and one small coho. The salmon seem to really like the wooly buggers around here, usually the black or green ones. One of the cutties was a fat 18 incher that hit my 3inch green and silver baitfish pattern 3 times before finally getting hooked.Another great couple hours spent fishing.![]()
