Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley. ~Author Unknown
Professori is spot on for May Long. As far as Chataway Mountain goes here are some of my favourite variations of Professori's recommendations with the exception being I would add shrimp to that list. Search around and find an old commercial pattern called the Tellicoe Nymph, originally tied as a caddis but is a great shrimp imitation and works wonders at all the lakes on that mountain. In the book, Kamloops, written by Steve Raymond he makes reference to the Golden Shrimp which is also a dynamite pattern.
My wife's favourite pattern for the Le Roi lakes is a black micro leech with a blue marabou tail. She caught 30 fish one day and got 2nd degree burns on her hands but she had a blast! I'm supposed to say it's called "The Rosie Leech". The K-Mart works realllly well in Billy and Gypsum. Antler Lake fish like Elk Hair Caddis even when no dries are about. For that time of year and without doubt the best producing fly is a dark wine rabbit strip leech in size 10-12. As for chironomids I do well on the standard Chromie and Brown/Copper about size 14. You probably shouldn't go without Pumpkinheads as they seem to work everywhere and with all the pregnant shrimp that will be around it is a good bet! Best of luck!
We would rent a cabin up there every year but the place sold and they use it for themselfs now,its a great area to set up and hit some of the better lakes, calling,Island ,I always did okay with the maroon micro leeches up there. If you have kids bring them to the beaver pond, loads of 8-12 in there ,its just a beautiful area minus the pine beatle now
