    Default new rods

Rick, I put a couple of those rods together.
They are as nice as they look.
I will have to bring out the new Opti reels for you to drool over.

those new loop reels are kind of funny, the handle placed is more to the middle of the reel instead of more towards the edge of the reel.... kind of takes away from the idea of a large arbour reel wouldn't it?

    Default loop reeels

    Hi Eric.
The handle position has nothing to do with the large arbour function of the reel.
It does however, affect the speed of retrieve.
With the handle on the outside edge of the spool the diameter is greater, thus it takes longer to turn a revolution = slower retrieve.
With the handle mounted more to the center of the spool the diameter is smaller, shorter revolutions = faster retrieve.
This is especially true of larger reels.
