Smile Two of my newest creations.

Well, I thought I would post a couple of pics. Haven't been tying too much lately, as you can tell from the first photo that I have had my hands full. But I did manage to tie up this pattern this morning. What do you guys think. I still gotta work on the heads and the wing is two hackle tips, I wanted to use 4 but have been struggling with getting them to sit together and keep that knife edge profile when viewed from the front. Thanx for looking and I welcome any advice.

    Default congrats

Way to go on the new bambino!
Much work but oh so worth it.

As for your fly, looking good.
To help with the head size are you using 8/0 or smaller thread?
    Sounds scary but works fine.

For the body hackle, try stripping one side of the feather.
You will get the same silhoutte without the bulk.

    Have fun on both fronts.

As Fred said, the new generation of threads are amazing. There are 12/0's out there that are as strong as Uni 6/0. Not knocking your fly tying at all but I like your first creation better and the photo made my wife go, "aaaaahhhhhhhhhh" and I said, "ya but what about the fly, honey?"
