I had progressives for a total of 4 days about 15 years ago. My optometrist told me not to bother with them, but the optician I trusted talked me into them. I used them for 4 days, took them back and told her to make me up a pair of standard bifocals. I have never had a day's problems since. Great vision to the sides and I tie with no vision problems.

    Default I'm next

I am going to have to get my eyes checked soon.
Occasionally I have to move a fly back then in again so I can focus.
Oh well, I made it 43 years. most in the family have them by 25.

My eyes need to be checked down the road, but I got a magnifying glass on a goose neck to move around as I need it.

    Funny Topic this is..
just last week I had an Eye exam...there are a few cloudy areas that showed up in my eye balls...the doc laid it on the line for me ...first off he said that in the old days they might have removed an eye(ouch)...but today they wait and See(Great)...so here we go through the long road of discovery...and likely many different Eye prescriptions.

When i was about 4, i got my first pair of glasses. I spent the first 4 years stumbling around half blind. Mum and dad thought i was just "special". Now i'm about a -9 prescription.

Glasses suck- get wet, steam up etc, but you get used to it!

I've been wearing progressives for about 15 years now. I found that I would have needed trifocals to be able to read, look at a computer monitor and be able to see distance. Isn't getting old fun?

Currently I find my eyes get tired while tying. I need lots of light. Magnifying lenses don't help a lot because I need to be a certain distance from the fly for it to be in focus. Some days it helps if I take my glasses off, but then I can't find the tools on my desk.

    Oh well...
