Default Car Mystery Electrical Problem ?

    Hi

One of a few problems that have reared their ugly heads our way over the last little while.
My wife's car is a VW Golf 2005 with a decent stock stereo that she had a VW Phat noise mp3 thing installed in the hatch, by VW. It looks like an amp with a removable cartridge that she plugged in beside the computer to load with mp3's which since has been discontinued.
Well the the Phat noise device was stolen out of the back and they left the rest of the stereo. They cut the cable and ripped it out while keeping out of the front part of her car.
So no stereo and no reverse lights ?
The fuse is good for the stereo and the other fuses as well.
2 VW dealers were left scratching their heads as well as a private shop.
    VW customer service was useless.

I worked on those buggers for 20 yeas and I hated every minute of it. VW went to a system back in about 2000 so no one else could get the information about the vehicle. They are also know for there *iss poor wiring diagrams. What you need to do is find a real good auto electrician who will work on VW and be perpared to spend the money for him to start tracing back wires to find out were the problem is. Unfortunatly I do not know of any in your part of BC. Actually the guy I use to use has also retired like me. Good luck om your journey with your VW.

Possibly damaged the harness to the taillight assembly. Or ripped a ground off. I have worked for Mercedes, VW and Ford. I found VW wiring diagrams to be the best around.
