Sign me up Fred. I'll submit my Morgan Lake Special.

O.K. so my chironis are done now what?
I love fishing mayflies when the opportunity arises.
Back when Corbett was a public lake I had my first fly fishing epiphany and it was with a callabaetis pre-emergence.
Been a bit of a favourite ever since.
So here we go again.
I would like to start a callabaetis nymph swap.
Your favourite callabaetis mayfly nymph pattern for the lakes.
I am going to cut this one off at ten tiers, just because.
Size should be one of the three faves of Fred
#12, #14, #16.
Multiple hatches = each hatch one size smaller.
Average lake, two or three hatches.
As per the norm TMC or equivelant hooks.
Toe tags
etc., etc.
Cut off to join, February 10th.
I need flies by March 10th.

Glad to have you on board johnk.
I haven't quite decided which pattern I will submit.
Yes please sir, I am in.
Things are better here now.

You are in knotnot.
Glad to hear things are better.
Here's hoping it stays that way.
Thanks Fred.
The assembly line is underway.

So you can't tell me no one else ties a mayfly nymph for the lakes!
I would jump in on this one.
Me suspects there will be several killer callabaetis patterns coming out of this swap.
Mayflies can produce some awsome shallow water fishing.
Nothing like casting to cruisers in 5 feet of water and watching them inhale your presentation![]()

Callibaetis hatches are kinda funny, Fred. It wasn't until about 5 years ago when I started fishing lakes with real prolific hatches did I get serious about callibaetis. I still only have a couple hot patterns but they're the types of patterns you don't see tied commercially and mainly because I like to think outside the box. One pattern looks like a K-Mart but much smaller to target porpoising fish and the other is an emerging nymph pattern that sets it apart from the thousands of naturals on the shoals.

Yes I agree John.
The thing is most fishers? anglers? don't look for it either.
It doesn't take many on the surface to get the fish keyed in on the nymphs.
I have had good days on lakes all over the place.
cariboo, kamloops, merritt, Lm.
If I see one or two duns I reach for a nymph a.s.a.p. the action doesn't always last that long.
The nymphs do a little dance for hours before they emerge.
Up a foot or two and then drift back down.
They may do this for several days before the conditions are just right as far as they are concerned.
Makes for some good fishing.
I think that I am starting an addiction. Put me down for a spot in this swap.
I can't spell it, but, I can tie it.
