Default Fly O' the Month - January

    Hmmmm let's see.
How about something we all like to use early in the lakes.
    Chironamids.

Everyone should have one of these to post.

    Let's see them.

    Default a few of mine.

My two favorites are the good old ice cream cone in black w/red rib and a simple pattern as follows: hook: pupae/scud ie. mustad c49 #10-16
    thread: 6/0 body color
bead: nickle tungsten( gets fly down quicker)
    1st rib: silver wire
    2nd rib: red wire
    body: thread.
    thorax: peacock herl
    Pretty simple but effective patterns.

    Default Chironomids

Don't even know where to start. This would have to be my favourite pattern to tie and fish. So I'll start with one of the first successful patterns I developed, The Stump Lake Limey:

Here is another pattern that had a good run at Tunkwa for about two years, The WonderBug:

    Hook: Diachii 1273 #12-16
    Bead: Black 7/64-3/32
    Rib : Red holographic tinsel
Body: Metallic grey patch from loaf of white Wonder Bread packaging
