    Afternoon Gents,

Thanks for the welcome, this is a great looking forum. Shamefully, I have been out of the flyfishing game for over 10 years...moved to a new location away from all my old flyfishing buddies, started a family and such, but now we are back home and I've got a few old buddies in the local area that are really into flyfishing and quadding.

I just ordered a new rod and reel, and dusted off the old flytying kit (Can't remember much...hopefully I don't tie myself to my old vice!)

Have seen some great looking patterns and discussions on this site!

As for a chowder recipe, I do have one I really like, a little more on the terrestrial side though...I usually wing it, but I goes a little something like this:

8 Slices Bacon cut into 1" pieces (Or however much you like...it's bacon!)
1 good sized handful of fresh white mushrooms sliced
2c. cubed 1/2" new red potatoes
    1c. chopped onion
    1c. dairy sour cream
    1 1/4c. milk
10 3/4oz. can consensed cream of chicken soup
8 oz. whole kernel corn (frozen kind tastes better)
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. thyme leaves

In 3qt. (3 L) saucepan cook bacon over med. heat for about 5 min.; brown mushrooms and onions, then remove all three and place aside. Add potatoes to the pot and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender (15-20) min (Careful here, you may have to add a little liquid to keep the potatoes from burning). Add remaining ingredients and those that were set aside. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until heated through (10-12) minutes. At salt and pepper to taste at the end if required.

    Cheers!
