Unhappy What Did You Do On Xmas Day.

What type of activities did you do on the special day.
I spent most of it shoveling snow to keep my mind occupied so I
wouldn't think of my mom, our first Christmas without her.
A very difficult day but got through it.
Lots of birds to keep me company.
Pestered the heck out of a flock of quail. Haha.

    Default quiet day

Mothers are very special for sure...and today I did talk to my mom...she is in NB ,in a special needs Care home, she is now 84 and on my mind a lot ..In 1964 I told her that I was going to the store and that I wouldn't be too long..(Actually I took the train to Toronto from Moncton) called her the next morning from Montreal to tell her...I couldn't face her ..breaking the strings. My dad was another story....
I have lost 5 siblings..but how can a mother endure such pain....it is easier for me to be 4000 miles away at times...but Christmas is ,for me, about Mothers and family...peace to you all
Today I too shoveled snow, took my wife out to the beach looking for Cutties and generally appreciated the day for what it is..

I just talked to my mom as well.
Also took my wife for her first ride on a quad!
    Much fun.
But I must say, thank goodness for reserve tanks.
Ran out of petrol a couple of country blocks from the house.

    Did a bit of snowblowing.
Worked on the igloo a bit.
Made rum sauce for the Plum Pudding my buddy gave me.
Ate too much incredibly good food.
Played with my cousins daughter, daughter. Karen, Lori, Brooklynn.
Watched a grouse hang around the compost pile.
Had a campfire in the back forty.

    You know usual day

I actually was thinking about cutty fishing this afternoon SalaR.

We were woken up at 7 by the little guy when he came into our room with an armful of his stuffed animals.
Went to the living room and reminded him ( he's 22 mos.) that Santa came.
He did good opening his presents and yelled 'rip it' during the process.
Jumping up and down, stomping his feet when the gift was toys and tossing the clothes over his shoulder.
Later we went to my parents for dinner with all the family.

    Got off work at 6am
Opened gifts with grandkids until 8am
    Slept until 3pm
    Xmas dinner at 7pm
    Back in bed by 11pm.

Now today is my Christmas! Spending the day making the tour around hunting stores and flyshops looking for Boxing Day deals!
