    Default Recession

What impact is the recession going to have on fishing? I know many stores get supplies from the states- suppliers going bankrupt? Less choice in stores? Prices rising or falling? Less people on the river? Bad days ahead for our great local stores?

    What do you think?

This could be a good thing for purchasing (lower prices) ….but could be bad for our local shops. If we continue to support them and they in turn just “look after their customers” …they should be ok.
    Less people-
I don’t mind sharing the river , what I DON’T like is the lack of respect I see on the river ranging from garbage being left behind & not respecting your fellow fishers

    Default Hmmmmmm.

Well one thing that happens in an economic downturn is many folks forgo the disneyland vacations in favor of camping and fishing.
It seems that most outdoors enthusiasts find a way to continue doing what they love.
I know I always have. It may be at a reduced level, but people still get out.
As for the shops, as FFFF said, if we support our local shops, they should be able to weather the storm. If we buy all of our outdoor, fishing and hunting needs from the specialty shops we all love instead of of the big box, they will be fine. It is amazing how a box of hooks and a couple of indicators adds up over the year. Besides, when was the last time you hung out at a big box and chewed the fat?
Prices will follow the dollar, as always.

well even though we may love the sports and outdoor activities we do. the truth is, that in times when people have less they need to work harder. and this leaves less time for these kind of activities. why.........like
I said before. ...people are just suckers.. check out how we do this to ourselves fed reserv-parts 1-5 ....
