I come from all over Europe. Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine.
Hmmm I am a Dutch, Russian![]()
O.K. so I would be
Scottish
Newfie
Bluenoser
and if I have it right, some of Canada's first born sons.
I have to check into that a bit more.
So totally tongue in cheek!!
I'm first generation Canadian, with both of my parents coming to Canada in the 50's.My Father comes from Amsterdam, ( that might explain a few things) and my mother hailed from the Hague. As a young boy my father fished quite a bit and continued to do so after he came to Canada. There are many fly fishing clubs in Holland and I have met many Dutch anglers on the local rivers that come here on holidays just to fish.![]()
We should all consider ourselves lucky that we live here, as British Columbia is a destination that many European anglers save up long and hard for, just for a chance to come and fish where we live.
Cliff.
Alright maybe i'm wrong about the dutch not fishing much.
I am 2nd generation Canadian, but 3 of my 4 grandparents were born in Germany. My Dad didn't speak english until he went to school, even tho he was born in Empress Alberta. My mom's dad came over when he was 10. My whole culture however, is totally canuck. I cook (all very well) butter chicken, beef and bean enchiladas, fettuccine bolognese, Thai stir fry, crepes, and pyrogies. You don't get more Canadian than that!
