    Default rainbows of lois lake

the rainbows have been growing in numbers since i last posted on the subject . the farm has had a few escapes (1000's) last winter and i was not there to document the summer activitys . a large population headed up streams this summer ....why...i dont know but they were sexuly active fish this spring and they are a summer steelhead cross. my thruoghts were that the staging fish we hit in the summer were summer steelhead cross from some years ago .fish that were awaiting a upstream migration for the rest of the year . we hit hundereds of fish in the early summer . they disapered after the first big rain of august....where did they go ?...up stream? my biggest fish of the summer was a 14 lb doe caught at the mouth of a creek in july.but some 20 were caught. looked just like a colored summer steelhead. they are natrualizing in the lake and streams and displacing cutthroat on a large scale. the fish farm inspector brian barker was trying to sue me for the post ''LOIS LAKE PART 1,2,and 3. he said ''they did ther job ''and he was sueing me for slander ...but i have not herd from his leagal defence as of yet..and never will .....because they all wery about there jobs !!!!!! not fish. while they will be colecting there CPP's and i will still be doing the best i can to make sure your kids and mine can catch some of the worlds biggest costal cutthroat in our back contry in powell river.

by the way, after 4 years of bitching by myself, and sugesting taking place they are going to start cliping farm fish in lois so you may kill farm fish over 16' and cuthroat will remain protected over 16'. thanks patches-D

its great to see someone actually looking out for the wild fish in P.R.
the cutties need to be preserved but i wouldnt have any objections to catching a 14 pounder, it would be better thought if it was a cutty
if you need any support with it im there
