Hey knotnot,
Smoke em' if you got em'!

A odd question with the jackal in mind.
Has anyone used North American coyote or fox ?
Could any domestic dog hair be used ?
I have access to a family Shepard who clings to me when I brush her.![]()

What about cats. I have a bunch of nice grizzly coloured cats running around and I've thought a few times of borrowing some.
Tie with whatever you want.
No rules!
I have used cat intsead of rabbit for dubbing.
Various dog for streamer wings.
Little wee birds the cat brought home.
Ducks you probably have never heard of.
Mystery hair and fur from the flea market.
Give er'.

You said "No Rules"
Well my mom almost shot me for trimming her german shep's tail.
Kinda like being in grade school again.
I also snuck some strands from a stuffed animal.
Look what you started.......

I hope she will get over it.
Cause' if the fly works that dog will look like a mexican hairless!![]()
You have opened a good can of worms...here are a few FLY names that come to mind;;
Sheba,Golden Retreiver,Pubic Parachute(ouch), Ethels revenge, and more
The Ethels Revenge is actually a fabulously tied Atlantic Salmon Pattern now using White Synthetic hair from Hair wigs bought at Haloween. This fly has caught me many Coho off the beaches here on the Island. This fly was originally tied from Bob Huthinson's wife's white hair...she really didn't like it, concidering he called the pattern after her hair??!! This guy BTW is a master....Lives in Ireland 1/2 the year and in Tahasis the other(seeking those big Coho off the Kelp beds).

C'mon SalaR,

You doubt?...what do you want to see?...the fly of the area of missing hair?
She is a great lady but I doubt if she will co-operate in this venture...but having a fly tyer for a Husband..(an Englishman...living in Ireland)..and a mad fly fisher! Will see if I can find that pattern...may take a few days to get it...unless I am lucky

The fly I meant.
I believe you, sounds like a neat pattern.
