    Default African Jackal/Temple Dog

    Hey SalaR
Is that African Jackal also known as Temple Dog?
I have a chunk I aquired in Bellvue last year.
    Very nice.
    Smooth, soft.
Sort of a cross between fine polar and arctic fox.

    Default Templedog or Tempelhund

If I may......a templedog is a Pekinese dog found in Northern China, Mongolia and Tibet. It is a domesticated dog now, a legendary dog of Chinese Royalty.

I have included a pic (I hope). Most of the fur we see for sale is a byproduct of the food industry in Asia.

My aunt had one and almost had it eaten several times by the neighbours while stationed in Southeast Asia. She called it Tempelhund...being German.

While in China last March I had the opportunity to sample such a delicacy finding out after the fact. It was rather good in fact.

    Lovely stuff to tie with.

Isn't the African Jackal a coyote type predator ?
I did a delivery in East Van a few years ago and in this home based business there were small metal cages of pekinese dogs in the kitchen.
Needless to say I called the SPCA and By-laws.
They apparently knew of this special place and eventually shut it down.

    Default Jackal

I just checked out the African Jackal.
    Very nice looking hair.
I can see where the Atlantic Salmon crew would be all over it.
Might make a great collar on some steelie patterns as well.
    So much to experiment with.
