    Default Nice

    Calgary is my favourite city outside BC.
    I have fished the Bow a fair bit in the past.
    In fact I bought an old beat up drift boat that I had fixed up
    so I could fish it right.
    Hope to see you on the river sometime.

    Default Good to have am Alberta perspective

    Hey Flyon;
    I picked up a fly whenin Calgary last May...that produced very well for me here on the coast...some kind of sculpin pattern with a Rabbit tail,Bead Head,Deer hair Muddler front end,some purple Palmer chenille and a bit of crystal flash...finally lost it on a big Steelhead in October...but have some pictures..

    This is my first year with a fly rod in hand... The bow was a freakin killer to learn on. Got the hang of it and picked up a switch which is awesome for the bigger runs. SalaR, sculpins are a deadly evening pattern in the summer. Not a pro bow fisher my any means but had a few good fishies on sculpins!

    Default Chuck and duck

    Well flyon you won't be doing much chuck and duck here...Single fly and in many cases no external weights on your leader. However, me thinks that the indicator fishing practiced on the Bow is a real benefit to we rivers here on the Coast .....even for Big Salmon in the Rivers! You will want to fish the Cowichan...likely the best Trout River on the Island(for sure)

    Some times the chuck and duck is key to hitting fish in the bow, wind comes up , and its the key to wrapping three nymphs and two split shot around your head.
