Glad you are getting the cutties and little blue backs.
Here is hoping the coho come in to spawn late.
Have you checked with the local fisheries biologist to see when they
usually spawn?
Or perhaps there is a stewardship group you could join.

Well, this past month has been great for sea cutts.Every time I head out for a couple hours I seam to hit 4 to 8 fish. Most have been 15 to 16 inchers, but a few have benn 18.small coho in the 16 inch range have been hitting the micky finns too.Sure beats the shoulder to shoulder of the mainland.Out here if someone does come bye, they don't even fish within sight of you.Unfortunately I haven't seen a single adult coho return to the creeks to spawn this year.

Hey Flyslinger///not a coho? Man that is a bad thing...here on the big Island the Coho are also down in numbers especially on the East/Middle area...better than the past 3 years but still not enough...me thinks the nets are causing some serious interceptions...somewhere,although the commercial guys are being quiet about this...
we do get fish around the Parksville area in December(Craig Creek) too small in numbers to seriously target..and of course the Trent and Oyster Rivers also get late runs...
Off today to find some Cutties as well..

Usually the coho had returned end of oct in previous years.A few chum returned, but no coho.Well it's another misty, foggy day,so I'm off to fulford for the afternoon.A few of the streams that used to see runs, have been barren the past 5 or 6 years.Really sad.People actually call it the dead sea around here.
