looking for a new winter rod if i can hide it from the wife looking at cnd skagit specalist or the steelhead specialist will be using for skagit lines for winter work .my question is i have a cnd solstice 14"3 7/8 and a old sage 9140 brownie . how would the 2 compare to what I have now ? open to any rod thanks for the help will be using mostly on the lower mainland rivers.
The Brownie is very similar to the CND actions....I really like the Specialist...Sold the last One at the store other day,was going to keep it for myself...but now that I have the 13' Clan there is no need for another rod in that range...
If you are looking for something with a lot of Power yet very light in hand and responsive, also excellent crossover rod ;Skagit and Underhand....and a sensational casting rod you might consider the Tamar...Snowbee 12'6"...or their 13' version(8/9)..The Tamar is my go to rod ...best rod I have ever owned...not the most expensive but definitely the most reliable. The tip is great...You would hate to know the numbers of big fish I have landed on my rod over the past 2 years...this September(4th) I located a fresh run of silver Chinook on one of my Favorite Remote Vancouver Island Rivers, landed a bright Spring in the 50 lb. range and 4 others over 30...the water was very fast and these guys were fresh and angry...total confidence in my rod!
