    Default Hackle again..sorry

    Another hackle wrap question.
When the hackle is wrapped around the hook does it really matter which way the strands face.
I have been lead to believe that they should run the same direction as the hook and not towards the tier when being wrapped.
One recipe I have also says to pull off the strands on one side and wrap the bare side in.
Is this all bull droppings ?

Default Which way did he go George?

    Hackle.
Dry hackle - Dull concave side up,shiny side down.

Wet - Shiny convex side up. Dull side down.

Stripping fibers from one side. Yup, do it all the time for wet flies. Keeps the bulk down and the head small.
