    Default New Sticks

Anybody out there get a new stick recently?
If so, what did you aquire and which line, or lines do you have for it?
I am looking at a longer rod for long belly lines for the "T" and the like.
Not sure which one right now, but looking is half the fun!

I enjoy spey/skagit casting so much that I have lost some interest in my single handed rods so I went and purchased an Amundson 1106 switch rod for my light streamer/trout fishing. I am still trying out different lines. I have tried a SA short head multi-tip as well as a 450 grain skagit plus tips. I have found that these lines are too heavy for my liking. I also still haven't figured out which casts work best on this style of rod. This winter I plan on upgrading my salmon/steelhead rod to something in the 13-14 foot range to match my airflow 8/9 skagit and 8/9 delta multi-tip. Leaning towards an echo or a decho but there are so many options now under 400.00 that it will be fun trying to figure out what works best for me. Does anyone have any rod suggestions for these 2 lines I mentioned?
    Thanx guys,
    Brian

Default You are on the right track

    Brian,
as you probably know, Dec Hogan helped design the Airflo lines.
They are a perfect match for either the Echo or DH rods.

Well Fred...it happened again...just when I thought I didn't need another Rod I have been fooled . Several weeks ago our little store began to work with Clan Rods of Scotland...a 13' 8/9 3 pc rod arrived that made me tingle...the nicest 13' rod I have ever had in my hand! AS you know I have many 13' rods, including an Angel, and the list goes on...but this is the sweetest...WHAT do I do...how do I tell VAl ?Maybe I can just sneak it in........
She knows I'm up to something!!!

Have to agree with Courtney, that clan rod is one helluva nice rod he has there. He hadn't had it out yet when I saw it, hopefully he puts it to good use quite soon!

    Default Eh Ladd

Hello my Ladd...I have to agree..."There can be Only ONE!"
Say Hi To Harry for me...will ya laddy! BTW...fished the Nitinat today and landed some very bright and angry Chum Salmon...not on the Clan..it's in Ontario at a SPey gathering...the weather was the same as last year and ironically...that same guide had two guests on the same spot and yes had a fire going...although I didn't use the heat...continued on down around the corner and immediately some silver flashes...tied on a Purple Marabou.flashy Intruder type fly and was into the largest Female Chum I have ever landed...she was only about 20 lbs,,but a real fighter, much more jumpy than the Males..landed 6 more before I got tooooo wet
    Be good

    Hi Mr C,
Brings back good memories of our trip on the Nitinat, the weather was the same as last year, o boy what rain that was, great fun though and the Kick boats where just great fun.
Harry is busy with some rods, i have been thinking about the reverse taper rod he has made.. as well as a couple of other projects he has on the go... Intersting stuff as always with Harry.
Bob Mieser said Harry made the nicest rod he ever cast,,, not bad for a guy in a wee workshop in a wee village in the Highlands, you really need to come fish the Spey next year and come and see Harry at work, i bet you won't be able to leave his workshop.... its like aladdins cave for Speycasters.
