    Default Blue Grouse

Well I didn't see any deer today.
we spent a lot of time getting wood as one of our saws blew a clutch.
    I did find this though.

    Yum!
I forgot how big these birds are!
It has been 12 years since I potted a Blue.
    Gonna be great for dinner.
I also got a Spruce, but since it was really thick cover and the bird was only 6 feet away after I tracked the wily spruce grouse to it's lair, I beheaded it with a load of 7 1/2's
    No pic.

Nice one. What are you going to tie with its feathers?

    Default Flies

I will be doing up soft hackles for sure.
I can also use some of the feathers for legs and tails on nymphs.
There looks like some awsome marabou type feathers on the flank I think I will try some little streamers.
Possibly collars on some steelhead flies as well.
