    Default Tying Nights

Has anybody given any thought to getting a tying night going in their area?

These are a great way to improve your tying skills and catch up on BS.

I have gone to several and had a blast.
Generally there would be some beverages and perhaps a smoke break or two.

Occasionally I have seen cubans produced to balance out a good single malt.

Once in awhile some flies actually get tied.

A great thing to do is have a tying night and then a fishout to use the flies tied.

There is always a few good tiers who are happy to help out the new guys.

I would suggest picking a pattern to tie, and bringing only the material for it.
Otherwise you never seem to figure out what to tie. This way you also get to see different ways and styles of tying the same fly. Some ways are easier for different guys. Some flies lend themselves to certain styles of tying as well.

All it takes is one tip to make your tying easier or more productive etc.

    Any interest?
I am up in Lumby, but if I am in town ( LM ) I would certainly try and attend.
