    Default Anyone swinging?

    Anybody out there swinging the spey yet?
    I don't know if I am going to be able to get up to the Skeena drainage this year.
    I haven'y put my stick together for 2 months.

    I am not worthy.

    just got back from the kitimat, was swingin all weekend but no coho, even tried strippen flies. ended up with some trout, a bill trout and two moldy old pinks, but it was nice to get out. I stopped an d chatted with some guys in smithers and the bulkley has been producing steeliea as well as coho. Hope to get top the morice soon. later,

    I swung for half the day on Sunday. But no love in return. I don't think those springs like the 2 hander.

    The babine you say, sounds interesting. How is access, do you need a boat or can you walk and wade effectively.

    It is best fished with a boat.
    There is no fishing from boats, but it is a good idea for access.
    You can fish the upper couple of kms from foot. There is an old decommissioned road you can hike down for a few kms.
    I would not reccomend boating the upper part unless you have much experience or know the river well.
    I spent two seasons guiding up there and still had sphincter factor regularily.
    The fish are big and aggressive. Most likely your best shot at a 20+ on dry flies in North America.
