    Default Dragonfly spey rods

Im thinking about getting into spey fishing for salmon and steelhead but i dont want to spend the big bucks on a rod in case i dont like it so i was wondering what these rods were like as a starter rod and what would be a good reel to go along with it. Also what would be a good line set up for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Other members of this site have recomended the echo spey rod. http://www.echoflyfishing.com/decho.php The guys at reaction say echo fly rods are easily the best for cheaper rods.

    Default New to Spey

Echo classic would be a good choice for low buck starter rod that has a good warranty and an action that is conducive to learning.

    There are others as well.
Perhaps the Amundson, Prof could commen on that one.

Look around for used as well.
Perhaps you could get a deal there as well.

I own a 9140 Echo and love it awesome rod for $300

I did look at the Dragonfly spey rods at A&N just to look and they felt very bulky to me quite heavy. The Echo rods are very light and very strong.

I matched mine with a really nice Bauer M5 reel
