When you heading back to the loops?

Well last tuesday I lost my tranny coming down the hill into Kamloops.
If that wasn't enough, it looked like an easy fix with a blown quick connect the problem. So $500.00 later I am ready to go. In to the dealership to pick it up and they say " the tranny still has issues, it is cooked. "
F--K
So we weigh out the options and for the difference I opt for a new tranny with warranty.
A day and a half later we are on the road. Only a day too long.
Thankfully I have a buddy with a very understanding wife who put us up for the three days even thought they already had house guests.
Thanks Greg and JoAnne.
Here's the kicker. The Effin thing leaks like a sieve!
I am in North Van and it has to go in to the dealer here. I can't risk the Coq. With my luck the thing will catch on fire.
At least it will be under warranty.
I will let you know how it turns out.
When you heading back to the loops?
Well first I need a truck.
Hopefully this week. I need to pick up my wooly and head to Vernon to store it. Or maybe head to Skeena country to fish steel!
I am at the point where I might say screw it and become a fish bum.
There was nothing quite like finishing the work day in whatever crappy job I had at the time, stopping by the house long enough to grab gear and heading out to one of the local rivers.
Times have changed...have wife + kids now and a "real" job... Although the kids are a lot of fun (son caught his first fish this weekend, with a worm, but we won't hold that against him) I still miss the trout bum life a bit.
I digress though, you have a new tranny that leaks? This is why I hate letting other people work on my cars, you can never be sure that they are doing the job properly.
Your truck at the shop ?
Sorry to hear about the troubles.Hopefully they will gitt er' done right.

"Fishing is much more than fish. Fishing is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers." - Herbert Hoover
Done that....
My kids have kids now.
My wife would gladly come fishing anywhere with me.
Now for those winning lotto numbers.
As for the truck, you figure an accredited dealership would have excellant
" technicians ". That is what I paid the dough for.
I had no where to do a tranny swap, or I would have done it myself.
The joys of breaking down on the road.
Heading to the dealership momentarily.
Heres hoping it is only a day job. I have a feeling I won't get it back for a day or two though.
Well it looks like it will be tomorrow morning sometime before I get the truck back.
I won't know for sure, but it looks like the original dealer forgot to check some basics before releasing the truck to me. I am on the hook for another $450.00 worth of parts from this dealer:wallbash:
Don't worry though, I will be back in Kamloops shortly after this is all over and the original dealer there will be looking after Joan and I. They just don't know it yet.
If it all had of been done correctly in the first place, this would not have happened.
This has been a crappy little road trip. So much for relaxing.
Thanks to my daughter and her husband for putting us up. Oh ya, not to mention my grandsonwho Poppi gets to spend extra time with.
he will be in the boat with me in no time.
