    Default Anybody Out

Hey anybody been out for pinks or cutties or whatever on the beaches or in a boat or floating on a log for that matter?

The interior is awsome, but I do miss the salt beaches.
Variety is the spice of life and I like spice!
I guess I will just have to work beach plans in to my holidays from now on.

Until then I will have to live vicariously through all my cyber fishing partners.

I was up in the Port Hardy/McNeill area at the very end of July, start Aug for a few days. Was a blast. My dad was over from Scotland, and we fished the beaches. Fishing was slow at the start, but got better. Pinks were starting to show up in a few spots in better numbers the first few days of August. Still there were some slow periods between fish, but then really fast periods- thats beach fishing!

Anyway, my dad loved it, and even managed to get a nice coho, which i didn't expect. The old bugger managed to out-fish me. Same as usual!

    Default McNeil

I should be up there right now
This is peak for pinks, and I know a few spots to look for coho as well.

    Thanks for the report.
    Brings back memories.

    Default Just back...

Had a blast up north of the island last week, as usual.

Fished the Campbell on 28th Aug- a few pinks, but dark and humpy.
Fished the Quatse for a short while on the 29th, before going to the beach- got a sea run dolly, which was sweet. Dark pinks as well.
Then spent a few days around Cluxewe, early mornings and low tides worked well. Mixture of really bright fish and a few slightly darker ones. Its a blast!

I get to go out tomorrow.
    Wife says stay close.
So I am getting the definition of close clarified.
Squamish through West Van to ummm Hope ?

    Default Got out

Went fishing on September 3rd in one of my local rivers.
Was able to land four nice cutties each about 14" long.
Saw lots of trout and a few Chinook.
Only managed to stay out for two hours but enjoyed it thoroughly.
Biggest catch of the day was a sore foot that put me out of commission for two weeks.
Just itching to get back out there.
Lucky fly of the day. picture 110
Wiil try some of the fly patterns listed on this site.
