    Default Alaskan Campers

I have just picked up a vintage Alaskan camper.
Some would call it old and beat up.
I say it is mature and weathered.

She does need a little TLC, but it is basically sound.
I will post a pic later.
All the hydraulics to raise and lower it work great.
Tomorrow I will test the fridge, stove and heater.

The vent lid needs replacing as my buddy I bought it from neglected to tell ne it wasn't attached on the inside. ( he was doing a bit of " work " on it )

Now I will have a nice warm dry place to sleep on those hunting and fishing expeditions.

I have heard there is some sort of cult club following on these units.
    Sweet, I am in.

    Default Uncle!

Hey I think that is my uncle in th second pic.

No, he would have had a beer in his hand.

    Great pics prof.

I have wanted one of these old classics for a quite a few years.

can't wait to get out and use it.

My wife has already decided that it will get some paint inside and maybe new blinds etc, etc....................

The two main problems with old campers is the roof leaks and the fridge doesn't work. So if those are good on your camper you should be in luck.

    Default Roof etc.

Looks like the roof is O.K.
They are one piece all the way down the sides.
There might have been a problem in the past, but it looks good for now.
I had about a half hour of movie rain at 110 kmh on the way home and no problem.

I am going to go and check the propane as soon as Lupe' is finished swabbing er out.

Can't wait to put the classic stickers on the outside.
I think I have the salmon and a pheasant.

You know you might be a redneck when..........

    Default getting there

So I need to replace the propane line from the cylinder to the hard plumbing inside. Not a huge deal. Therefore I have not checked the stove, heater, fridge yet.

I have gone over all the outside seams with sealer and it should be duck back dry now. The unit was kept dry in storage for the last 3 1/2 years and I have it sealed up good now.

The new vent is installed. Works great.

I will be sleeping in it soon.

By choice, but I guess it could make a great dog house.
