I have mine but I need it now because I was born after 1983. I think its useful b/c most boaters don't know the difference between a green light and a red one. I got mine so I could wakeboardBut i don't bother anyone else and have music blaring.

Hi
Does anyone have their certificate yet ?
I have a text and have been reading through it when time permits.
After seeing the news last night about the jet boaters on the Upper Pitt and what I have seen first hand on and around the Shuswap.
It is long over due to get something going by way of licensing.
I figure by 2009 when its mandatory the RCMP, Conservation, Park Rangers will stop and check most or all boaters.
It won't solve all problems but maybe some of the idiots may learn that there are rules on the water.
Nothing like having a wakeboard boat blow by close enough to spit on with its music blasting and crazy wake while trying to relax and fish.

The wife and myself got ours a couple of years ago at the Sportsman show in Abby. They had a booth set up and we just went in a wrote the test. We both passed, neither of us studied the book. Most of the test was common sense. I ace the test but then again I use to teach water saftey to my Sea Scouts, so they could get their Boating Certificates. The wife has never read a bok or anything else about boating and has no desire to run a boat, but hought it would be nice to have incase something happens to me. We do not need them yet as we are on the older side but what the heck taking the test was free you only had to pay if you passed and we did.![]()
I love hunting, golf and anything else that keeps others off the water.
I've had mine for more than a year...it was easy and cheap enough to do, so I figured I'd do it to avoid any potential hassles.
There's nothing sexier than a hook dressed in fur and feathers.
Have mine for two years now, did it on a whim at Cdn Tire, studied the book for 5 minutes and wrote the test.
Only got one wrong,![]()
I got mine in January, just in case I want to put an electric motor on my pontoon. Didn't study and just wrote the test. 12 years in the Navy didn't hurt any.
Guess I will just go get it before the rush.
Now just find a place.

Supposedly you can get it online. And many people just do it with the book in front of them![]()
