when i'm fishing the thompson with hoppers, my standby's are the Bullet Head Hopper and a Stimulator.

Here is a picture of some hoppers I tied up last night. I will try and get some better quality pics up. What is everyone else tying for hoppers?
I got this pattern from:
http://hipwader.com/2003/fishys-hopper-pattern
The hardest thing to find was the apple green pen and the green nail polish, the wife would not go get it for me so there I was loking through all these nail polishes trying to find the right colour, sort of felt a little goofy.

I love hunting, golf and anything else that keeps others off the water.

but I have no idea how to tie them, way above my skill level for sure.
california blondes are another of my fav's, though i don't use them alot. i've used them on the thompson and kettle rivers with good success as well as a couple interior lakes. personally, i'd rather buy them than tie them since i don't use them often enough to warrant the extra time tying them. but the skills involved in tying them aren't too tough to pick up after a few tries. if you can tie those foam ones, you shouldn't have a problem.
skills needed include:
-tails
-dubbing
-rubber legs
-wing post
-hackle around wing post
all of these are pretty easy to figure out, though they do take some practice to get good at.
