Hello,
I'm going to my brother's wedding from July 3 - 7th at Lac de Roche and hear there are 10+ lb fish in the lake. As part of their camping themed wedding, there's going to be a fishing derby. I'm hoping to beat out my Dad (long-time fly fisher), brother, and fiance to show off my stuff. Has anyone fished there before? Any tips for what type of fly to use?
Thanks,
Jennifer
Had some very good times fishing Lac de Roche...this is going back many years ....Art Michaluk designed his famous sedge pattern while fishing and camping at this lake...it is a big lake with some good shoals that support a large variety of insect life and if you hit it right you may get into some awesome hatches...assuming that you have a boat search out these shoals...then study the water to see what insects are showing (if any)...I have been there thru some awesome sedge, and may fly hatches....if they are not hatching then use caddis nymphs, may fly nymphs, chironomids. etc, etc...another favorite for me is damsel hatches...I hope you have a great time.
