    Default Lakes in the Kootenays

Hello everyone, just found this webpage and I am very excited! This will be my 3rd year fly fishing and I must admit I haven't had a lot of luck. I absolutely refuse to pick up my spin cast anymore, because the odd time I do get a fish on my fly rod its 10000000 times better! Anyways I live in the West Kootenays and was wondering if anyone has any experience in this area and could point me to a lake where I can start landing some fish. Don't limit to lakes though, I'll fishing anything! Thank you to anyone that has some pointers.

if you live in the Kootenays i would give the St. Mary's (research peak times)

I myself have not been there but i have heard and been told its a gorgeous pristine area with good dry fly action and wet fly action for both cutties and bull trout right now im in the midst of planning an August long weekend to there
