MacDonalds Landing-FRASER RIVER

Does everyone know and does anyone care that the Land Owner of the Fraser River Lodge has somehow managed to block access to MacDonalds Landing [just above Agassiz bridge]??

I think that this should be opposed and would be happy to help do that.For over 20 yrs this boat launch area has been used by ordinary folk like myself to gain access to the Fraser River near such famous bars as the Spagetti Bar.

It was never abused-very little if any liter.I am oposed to single Landowners having this much power is anyone else??

The person owns a fishing Lodge apparently and I suspect it is an attempt to decrease his competition in a mean spirited way.

More and more public access is being limited by individuals and I think it is wrong PERIOD!.Any others who feal the same??

If I am wrong then I apologize but these are the facts that I have learned from reliable source.

I thought it was the farmer who's fields go up to the dike. At the mouth of the Maria slough people were dumping garbage by the road. It was actually turning into quite a dump. There were also bad parties quite frequently. He got really fed up with it. Supposedly he owns the land up to the river. I'm not sure if i'm correct. Jerry at kent outdoors told me this. I fish for salmon there and was planning to ask him if i could walk in and fish when they start coming up. But i would love to see it open again too.

Just because there is a dike at the back of someone's property, doesn't mean he/she has to let you cross private property to get to it. Allowing access is the owner's gift to you, not your right. Do you allow people to walk through your yard to get at whatever you have at the other side?? It really doesn't matter one bit what the owner is involved with, he is under no obligation to let anyone on his property.

I have been fishing lakes here in the lower mainland and in the interior and the amount of garbage that gets left behind and the vandilism that occurs I have been waiting for more areas shut down.....we all pay the price for others actions.
