They are fine rods.
You would do well to get one.
The EchoII is a very nice two hander.
Two tips to boot.

I was wondering if anybody has been using this type of rod and are you happy with it or do you want to get rid of it?
I will be selling a couple driftrods this season and think that i may buy a new spey rod
anyways any info would be great
cheers Oliver

I myself throw a 9140 Echo spey and i love it. its nice and light with great action. havent hooked any steel on it yet though![]()
I was looking at the 13 ft 7/8 wt and it seemed like a nice rod ,I have a 7wt switch that I built myself and have found that this rod will handle most fish the lower mainland can serve, I dont think it would be used for big salmon so it wont need to be much heavier.
I like the option of the second tip I usually bust a top a year due to crappy casting so that way i have a spare
anyways thanks for thwe info and if you have any more info it would be great to hear.
cheers Oliver
ya the 13' is the one i was playing with when i decided to buy my 14footer. (didnt have one in stock) and i liked the weight and action, so i ordered the one i own now. love itbut mine didnt come with an extra tip
should it have? if so im going to have to go whine to get one LOL
EchoII has two tips.
The burgundy coloured one.
More Scandi action.
Mo money.
Echo Classic one tip.
Green coloured.
More traditional action.
Less money.
Warranty is very good with these.
ok Thanks Phearless I havent even seen the new ones yet LOL
match it with the right line and you have a combo that will compare well with many rigs twice the price.
Full agreement here Whistler.
Excellant bang for the buck.
Ok then here goes with the next Question ,
Which lines would you recomend, I have a spare spool for my hardy #1 and want to use that reel for this rod as it matches up reely nice
I had looked at getting a longer belly line as I have a skagit line already in that weight, I was thinking along the lines of a windcutter for casting bigger
buggers and such dolly aparrel. I plan on taking this rod with me to the bow in july to swing some big flies for browns and the rest of the season it will be chasing dollies on the pitt, lilly and some others
If you have any recomendations let hear it as i am open to anything.
I want this rod to be fun to cast as i am getting tired of hurling 8 inch intruders all winter
cheers
Oliver
