I am going to try and explain a few of the new and older features in FFBC. Have a read and please comment.

CMS Content Management System: the CMS is a Content Management System (CMS) its obviously in the infant stages on FFBC but it will make it easier to organize and create content for easy access for registered members to find and create content. Such as, articles, fly patterns, videos, book reviews to name a few.

Forum Sidebar: The new sidebar that I am referring to is in the main forum, beside all the forums on the right hand side. Its not anything major other than a avenue for me to display various things such as, what you see right now; the latest freshwater and saltwater fishing reports from guides, charters and fly and tackle shops. This sidebar also allows me to display other things such as, latest blogs, blog comments, CMS content, CMS content comments, and much more, making it easier to find the latest info! In the sidebar you will also see whats called the "Tag Cloud" in this tag cloud you will see the tags listed below from tags applied in new threads and CMS content. When you click on a tag word in the tag cloud you will be directed to all threads with that keyword, its like a search engine, making it easier to find information you seek. The other thing in the sidebar is the google ads, I dont have to explain those, their just part of a free site!!

Cel Phone Surfing: I just got the iphone working on the site the other day, tank you 11th warrior for the kick in the butt. Right now iphone users are surfing the site and blackberry and nokia users will be next in the near future. here is some info an the iphone app. Tapatalk is a mobile forum app for iPhone / Android and soon to be on Blackberry and Nokia. Tapatalk supports all the usual forum functions plus full screen image viewing, image upload, caching (less reload), private messaging, all these features are accessible in just a few simple taps. You can either pick the free version or the paid version, which allows you to reply to threads/PM's, etc, here is the link to the app, http://www.tapatalk.com/.

Facebook Connect: Here is brand new feature, facebook connect. Some some of you have noticed but have not used, facebook connect. When you use this option it connects to your facebook account linking your facebook profile picture to the forum. So when ever you change you profile picture in facebook it changes it on BCFR, kinda cool!!

Social Groups: This is a older option that is not getting used regularly , this is a section for members to create their own member groups. These groups are moderated by its creator and can be public or private, choice is yours. This is where most of the OFF TOPIC stuff has gone like sports groups and Fish out Events.

My biggest headache right now, which I am working on as we speak is the slowness of the site. Some of you have noticed things moving around, widgets disappearing on the home page, etc, etc. This is all part of the investigation process. I hope everyone can be patient with this process as I will correct the issue and I will fix it one way or another! Please if you notice the site faster send me a PM
